Does anyone else get stuck-in-a-rut when it comes to the foods you (hurriedly) throw into your shopping cart?

Surely I’m not the only one…

And whilst I like to think I get plenty of ‘plant variety’ into my weeks, in busier times, I definitely stick to the tried-and-true staples that don’t require too much thought, and that I know the kids will enjoy…

…so I will be participating in this challenge too (and I’ll let you know how I go next week in our Facebook group)…

THE CHALLENGE?
Try one new fruit or vegetable this week…

This can be as simple as choosing a different apple variety.
… Or as adventurous as trying a recipe involving bitter melon…

Your choice!

WHY?
We know that the more diverse our diet is, the more diverse our gut microbiome is (which is what we want!)… Different plants contain different types of fibre, which helps different strains of beneficial microbes to thrive and do all the things they do best…like supporting your immune system, helping your body synthesise vitamins and minerals, and strengthening the communication between the gut and your brain!

A healthy, balanced and diverse gut microbiome also supports your fertility and the health of the future babies!!

Want to Learn More?

The first module (which is free, by the way!) of our online course, ‘Healthy Gut, Healthier Baby’, demonstrates why plant diversity is such a good goal if you’re trying to improve your gut health… as well as (of course) providing you with many, many other resources and empowering information!

Discover how you can optimise your gut health with the MothersBabies online course ‘Healthy Gut, Healthier Baby’.
