No other time in a woman’s life seems to open them up to so much ‘opinion’ and ‘advice’ as when they’re pregnant.

From the well-intentioned ‘get lots of rest now, because you won’t sleep for the rest of your life’, to the more misguided ‘eat whatever you crave now and worry about your weight after the birth…’, through to  the downright judgy ‘You’re not going to eat that are you?’, women are slammed with opinions and advice from all directions.

At a time when many women already feel a bit anxious and unsure about their new life stage, this (often conflicting) advice can be extra confusing and overwhelming. 

What are you meant to believe? Does what you eat in pregnancy even matter…the baby doesn’t get it anyway, right? Is rockmelon really on the banned list? Do you need supplements? Can you really drink alcohol just a little bit…?
